Tufted wool yarn wall rug.

This artwork was exhibited at Lismore Rising at 107 Projects, Redfern, Sydney in 2023

This work explores the human experience of the urge to touch, feel and hold something textured and unknown, yet the viewer is told not to. Don’t Touch it states clearly, consent has not been given, there are no grey areas. There is no glass case, no velvet cord, no barrier between the viewer and the artwork, there shouldn’t be a need. Yet, how many people will reach out? How many people will say something if they see it happening?

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land in which I work, meet and create. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging and am mindful that this land always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
